With a median build year of 1965, Salt Lake City has gutters that have usually been repaired several times already, often by different people with different ideas. Sectional runs with soldered or sealed joints are common here, and so is wood fascia that has been quietly taking water for years behind a joint nobody looked at.
Gutter Repair and Sealing covers the same work here as anywhere else we go: what is included, and what changes the price.
Who does the work: a trusted contractor, paid by you directly, with Woodbury standing behind the work.
Gutter Repair and Sealing across Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City is the oldest housing stock in the county by a distance, with a median build year of 1965 and two thirds of the houses built before 1980. The Avenues, Sugar House and the east-side streets have mature trees, wood trim, and original details worth keeping, which changes how carefully you work on them.
What we usually find on Salt Lake City houses
- Several generations of old sealant, applied over each other rather than removed
- Sectional joints and soldered seams that predate seamless runs entirely
- Fascia that has been quietly taking water behind a joint nobody opened
- Repairs done by different owners to different standards along one run
The housing in Salt Lake City
The median Salt Lake City home was built in 1965, and 65.4% of the housing here went up before 1980. That makes it some of the oldest housing we work on, roughly 20 years older than the middle of our service area, so most of what we find here has been repaired at least once already.

Questions
Frequently asked
There is already sealant on the joints. Can it just be redone?
Sometimes, but old sealant has to come off properly first or the new bead will not stick. A repair applied over a failing one is the most common thing we end up undoing.
How do I know if the fascia behind it is damaged?
You often cannot from the ground. When we have a joint open we can see what the wood behind it looks like and show you, which is the point of looking before committing to a repair.
